Yeah, the Vance’s. I came from France, so… I knew the family pretty well. Not to say that we were best friends forever, but I knew them. And they were very, very kind… I guess I’m doing okay. I mean, I feel awful and I’m so sorry for them, but… Life goes on, no? I can’t spend my entire life being sad. There’s a war going on and it’s affecting all countries, so I have to be alert! Or… Something. Oh, well. Yes, security’s been rather tight, hasn’t it? It’s a bit scary, to tell you the truth. I’ve had to comfort some first years who are scared of what’s going on… Poor things. Well, I’m very glad that you’re alive. That makes life a bit more enjoyable.
Yeah, it’s….. dark times for everyone, huh? I think what scares me most is how much this has spread. I mean… the threat is everywhere, like you say, and that more than anything is frightening. It’s like, you can’t really go anywhere that’s safe. Except maybe Antarctica. We could go hide among the penguins! Well, you look very well, and I am sorry that this affected you. I know it’s not realistic, but hopefully… hopefully they will be the only ones we lose. Gotta have that hope. Yeah, I know how that goes. I actually had a couple first years wake me up one night because of all that’s been going on. Head Boy problems, having to deal with all the problems of your house because none of the other prefects want to do it. Aww, you like having me around? Why, that’s so sweet, I don’t think I’ve gotten such a wonderful compliment in ages. You’re too charming. Life is definitely more enjoyable with you around, too.
